I grew up in California's magnificent Bay Area, and while I love my home, I'd often rather be backpacking through a semi-dangerous country with a pair of binoculars and a journal. In the past few years I've lived, traveled, worked, and studied in Peru, Costa Rica, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Israel, Europe,  Benin and Brazil!
